Founding member of the Bismuth Associés Law Firm

In 1979, he created with colleagues the Computer Club for Lawyers (CIPA) and was keen on the future of computer and telecommunication Law.
He specialised and practised the most in New Technologies Law and Business Law He advises and assists his clients when elaborating their legal strategy and negotiating contracts. he also acts in arbitral and judiciary procedures.

Given his specialisation, he was appointed to several positions on a national and international level. He was a founding member of the Union des Avocats Européens (European Lawyers Association) and President of the International Federation of Computer Law Association.

He was part of the Comité National pour le passage à l’An 2000 (Y2K National Committee) and was a member of the Commission Nationale Consultative des Droits de l’Homme (Human Rights National Consulting Commission)
He is Honorary President of the Association Française de Droit de l’Informatique et de la Télécommunication (French Association of Computer and Telecommunication Law) Yves Bismuth teaches at the Paris XII Law Faculty and Université de Savoie.
he has been a member of Lyon's Bar since 1971 and presided the governing body.
